Increased demand for temporary drivers helped Driver Hire offices in Enfield and Aberdeen pass £3m turnover for the first time.

The Aberdeen branch, owned by Grant Wilson, is also marking its 20th year in business.

“We’ve enjoyed an exceptional year’s trading, 24% up on last year,” said Wilson.

“Our wide business mix – as well as drivers we also supply workers to oil and related industries – coupled with an improving economic outlook, has helped us to a record year. But it also comes down to the service and commitment of my staff and candidates all of whom deliver great service day in day out, 365 days a year.”

Enfield branch owner Manjit Singh also passed the £3m mark.

Singh said: “I thought last year was a good one, but we’ve added another 40% to our turnover this year. We take a great deal of time and trouble to source and recruit the best drivers. It’s clearly paying off as our clients continue to make us first call whenever they need temporary staff.”

Chris Chidley, Driver Hire chief executive added: “My congratulations go to both these offices. Reaching that level of turnover is a significant achievement and comes down to their hard work and commitment. It’s indicative of the wider Driver Hire network, where record levels of trading are being driven by a flight to quality. Our customers clearly value the reliability and peace of mind our high quality recruitment services deliver.”

In the financial year ended April 2015 the network increased turnover by 20% to £94m, the highest in its 30 year history.
