Alfa Romeo is one brand that is on the back foot when it comes to electrification, but that it about to change with the launch of the Tonale. The new compact SUV, due to launch in the Spring, will be Alfa's first plug-in hybrid and is likely to use the same powertrain as the recently launched Jeep Renegade 4XE.
It is expected to deliver the best driving dynamics in the segment, with the hybrid powertrain being used to enhance the experience rather than just reduce emissions.
