Review

THE car that put Renault on the fleet map has hit UK roads with a sharp new look.

The old Laguna's strong point was its value for money, low running costs and practicality in both hatchback and estate versions. But now Ford and Volkswagen have moved the goalposts for quality, refinement and interior space.

Renault is also promising improved quality with the new Laguna, while the estate is only available in the higher trim levels and called the Sport Tourer. But the big seller will be the 1.8 - and we try the Expression trim level - a step-up from entry model.
