Free2Move Lease, the PSA Group’s multi-brand leasing and finance business, has launched Free2Move Connect Fleet telematics solution.

The new product gives fleet operators the position of vehicles in the fleet, their direction of travel and where they have been already.

Fleet operators can also geo-fence specific locations, sending an alert to specified recipients when the vehicle arrives at or leaves a particular location.

Duncan Chumley, managing director of Free2Move Lease, said: “Introducing Connect Fleet will be particularly beneficial for our light CV customers.

“Being able to locate their vehicles at any time will provide light CV fleets with valuable information that may enable them to improve fleet efficiency.

"It’s good for driver safety too. Most drivers work alone and if the vehicle was involved in an incident, the fleet manager would have information on its precise location and where the vehicle was in the run up to the incident, enabling them to call for assistance if needed.”

Connect Fleet users will have access to a comprehensive amount of vehicle data, including tracking the hours and miles travelled by vehicles in the fleet and also monitoring fuel consumption.

Customers can also tap into analysis of driver behaviour, monitoring events such as harsh braking and harsh acceleration to build an eco-performance profile for each driver.

Later this year, all Free2Move Lease LCVs will be equipped with Connect Box from the factory, which means no third-party electronics will be needed.
