Choosing between different fuel card providers can be time-consuming.
Some of the key considerations are: the type of card (fixed price, pump price of bunkered); the number of sites and which networks; international coverage; reporting; mileage capture; security measures.
You also need to consider whether you want to use a fuel card reseller or go direct to an oil company such as Shell or BP.
To help you choose the right provider, Fleet News has compiled a table of some of the main fuel card providers with answers to the key questions.
This information was correct at the time of compiling (May, 2013).
There are many more fuel card providers and resellers available but it was not possible to include all of them in the table.

Why is there no mention in the table of the £2 network service fee for Allstar? This is a significant cost to bear to use this card. It will cost us over £20,000 a year, so we are looking for an alternative,
