What is your biggest achievement in your current role?
Being named Entrepreneur of the Year at the National Business Awards 2009.
Who has had the biggest influence on your career?
My dad. He’s given me an awful lot of advice over the years.
What was your biggest mistake in business – and what did you learn from it?
Not installing a robust CRM earlier, as investing in the best process and operational systems makes growth less challenging.
When was the last time you took public transport?
A train back from Edinburgh after a Salesforce.com event where I presented RAM as a customer success story.
Who was the last person you received a text message from?
My brother Nick, who is sales director at RAM.
You are stranded on a desert island – what three things do you take with you?
A satellite phone so I can call someone to come and collect me, a book and some beers for the wait.
When did you last feel guilty about the environment and why?
Printing off the team newsletter. An employee later suggested it could have been emailed.
How would you describe your leadership style?
Leading from the front, straight talking, methodical and ethical.
What is the first thing you would do if you were made Prime Minister for the day?
Put a policy in place for Government agencies to buy British and reinvest in our economy.
What has been the pivotal moment in your life?
The birth of my little girl. It changed my life completely.
If you won the lottery, what would you buy first and why?
A round-the-world trip to explore interesting places.
What is your best childhood memory?
Getting up on Christmas morning to find my presents!
Who was your childhood hero?
Michael Knight from Knight Rider. I loved the car.
What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?
Work hard and be happy.
What is your dream holiday?
Hawaii (I’ve been watching too much Hawaii Five-0).
What is your favourite dish at a restaurant?
Chicken tikka balti. I love any Indian food, but that has to be my favourite.
What is the one object you couldn’t live without?
My iPhone.
Which historical character do you most identify with?
Sun Tzu, the Chinese military strategist. I love the strategies that have survived through time.
What is your favourite sitcom?
Entourage. I suppose I can relate to all the characters growing up and trying to make something of themselves.
What is your favourite film?
The Business. I found it really funny.
Which superhero from comics would you most like to be?
Superman. It would be great to fly and I like Lois Lane.
What is your favourite book?
Breaking Vegas. I couldn’t put it down.
What is your dream car?
Aston Martin DBS.
