The Project
As a highly experienced Logistics Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of a residential development in Greater Manchester, with a build value in excess of £50m. Your responsibilities will include managing the smooth and efficient flow of materials and resources across the site, optimising operations to enhance overall project success.
Requirements
For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;
SMSTS
CSCS Black Card - desirable not essential
First Aid - desirable not essential
CPCS A61 Appointed Person - desirable not essential
It is also essential that you hold the experience below;
Extensive background within the industry with at least 3 years of experience working with a leading contractor or subcontractor
History of operating as a Logistics Manager or in a similar position on major projects
Additional skills;
Team working skills
Excellent leadership
Efficient time management skills
Strong expertise in negotiating with vendors, carriers and stakeholders
Strong communication abilities, written and verbal with a keen eye for detail
Solid understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial management to optimize logistics expenses and resources
Proficient with utilising Msite, tracking systems, and other technological tools used in managing supply chain operationsThe Role

Coordination of site boundary management
Incident review, recordkeeping, and reporting
Monitor expenses and promote effective resource allocation
Establish and manage financial plans for logistics operations
Coordinate the storage, management, and control of inventory
Coordinate and oversee the delivery, storage, and distribution of goods
Develop and manage logistics strategies to ensure timely delivery of goods
Monitor the movement of goods and address logistical issues as they occur
Ensure correct inventory quantities and set up systems for monitoring stock levels
Plan, schedule, and oversee the transportation of goods to ensure timely deliveries
Analyse logistics performance data and implement improvements based on findings
Assess supply chain risks (e.g., delays, damage) and establish contingency measures
Build and uphold productive relationships with vendors, carriers, and essential partners
Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers to enhance supply chain efficiency
Utilise logistics software and systems to enhance efficiency (e.g., route optimization, tracking)
Oversee order fulfillment and resolve delivery issues to ensure high-quality service to customers
Prepare and manage all necessary documentation, such as shipping records and customs forms
Deliver regular updates to senior management on logistics performance, trends, and improvement opportunities
Handle commercial management to ensure budget compliance without compromising on service/product quality
Address customer complaints related to logistics and collaborate with the appropriate teams to resolve issues promptly
Design and implement logistics policies and procedures that emphasize efficiency, sustainability, and effectiveness
