SIG Plc. is a leading supplier of specialist building materials to trade customers across Europe with strong positions in its core markets as a specialist distributor of insulation and interiors products and as a merchant of roofing and exteriors products.
We are currently looking to recruit a Warehouse & Transport Manager who will work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure all products are delivered efficiently.
What does the role involve?
As Warehouse & Transport Manager, you will oversee operations on the site to ensure that agreed standards of service, quality and health and safety are consistently exceeded within budgeted costs. Managing and negotiating positive outcomes at times of heavy demands and conflicting interests; the Transport & Warehouse Manager will add value to the site through applying expertise and considerable powers of influence and persuasion.
You will be responsible for a number of direct line reports, and will be expected to adhere to our Zero Harm policy and ensure that members of your wider team act in accordance with these principles. The successful candidate will work pro-actively to oversee the day-to-day running of the transport and warehouse operations within agreed costs, service levels and KPI’s.
The successful candidate will require:
• Detailed knowledge of warehouse and transport operations
• Ability to demonstrate self-motivation and strong people management skills
• Good understanding of the manual handling requirements and legalities
• Ability to use IT packages (including Word and Excel)
