GODFREY Davis (Contract Hire) has signed one of the largest contracts in its history - a 1,300-vehicle deal with Associated Funeral Directors, the UK subsidiary of SCI, the world's largest provider of funeral services.

The contract, won from an incumbent competitor after six months of negotiations, will see Godfrey Davis managing the fleet which ranges from limousines and conventional company cars to specialist coachbuilt hearses costing more than £60,000.

The new contract includes Godfrey Davis' unique Fleet Administration and Control System (FACS), a software package developed by the company for managing vehicle fleets. That allows close monitoring of the fleet and means accurate information can be provided quickly to any of the 10 directors in Associated Funeral Directors' regional management structures.
