VAUXHALL has revealed a number of upgrades on its flagship Omega range for the 1997 model year including the installation of the 136 PS 2.0-litre 16v engine in the entry-level Select model. The engine, which is already fitted in GLS, CD and CDX models, replaces the 2.0 litre 8v unit. The entry-level Select now costs £18,725 on the road.
In addition alloy wheels have become an option on the Select and air conditioning is now available as a £750 option in lieu of a sunroof on both Select and GLS models along with an electrically operated rear window sunblind in saloon models.
