POOR and ill-informed decisions on company car acquisitions continue to add huge unnecessary costs to UK business, according to Leasecontracts, part of GE Capital Fleet Services.

The view comes as the leasing and fleet management company publishes the latest edition of its 'Best Buys for the Business Fleet', which details the running costs of 61 petrol engined cars in seven categories and 35 models for its five diesel groups.

Costs for 'Best Buys for the Business Fleet' are based on 25,000 miles a year and include depreciation, vehicle licence, financing, maintenance, temporary replacement vehicle, insurance assuming average claims record and fuel costs at £2.15 a gallon for petrol and diesel excluding VAT.
