FLEET Cost Management has hit back at claims that daily rental car hire prices may have to increase by 10-15% this year by guaranteeing short term hire prices to March 1, 1997.

FCM has given a price guarantee pledge that its prices will be held for the next nine months. FCM declined to reveal which daily rental suppliers it had corporate supply arrangements with. However, its main suppliers are known to be Alamo Rent A Car and United Kenning Rental Group.

FCM hire rates for one to six days are £16.86 for a group A car (Vauxhall Corsa 1.2), £18.90 for a group B car (Rover 214) and £22.09 for a group C Car (Ford Mondeo 1.8). FCM claims those rates are 'at least' 20% lower than its competitors.
