VAUXHALL has reported a 21% increase in demand for air conditioning following introduction of the £395 option in lieu of a sunroof on Vectra LS and GLS models.

Demand for air conditioning on the Vectra comes as more and more manufacturers are introducing the feature on upper medium sector cars. Renault recently announced its new manual air conditioning system would be offered on all Laguna and Laguna Estate RT and RTi versions - excluding RT 'Sport' 1.8 special edition - at a special offer price of £495 until August 31 (Fleet News June 14).
