ONE in three company car drivers are now women compared to just 7% in 1989, according to the 1996 Lex Report on Motoring - 'Listening to the needs of Company Motorists'.

Pointing to the fact that women were now being given more of an equal chance when companies were recruiting staff, Lex Vehicle Leasing sales and marketing director Richard Koster said: 'I think more women are being taken on in sales and management positions across all areas of industry. In the UK, company cars remain an important part of the recruitment process and with more women than ever securing a share of these jobs so the number of female company car drivers will continue to rise.' The report also reveals that 28% of all fleet managers are women.
