THE Briton Fire Company believes handing over new company vehicles to its drivers is a good reason to hold a party. This year's party - held in a marquee at Taverham Hall near Wakefield - marked the move of the fleet to 18 Carina E estates and 21 Hiace PowerVans.

The company has been operating Hiace vehicles for some time and they have proved both reliable and popular with the drivers. Following the launch of the new Hiace PowerVan at the beginning of this year, Briton Fire decided to replace all their existing Hiace vans and add more to the fleet. At the same time, the company looked to replace the Vauxhall Astra diesel estate cars used by the alarm system engineers and decided to move to the Carina E with its lean-burn petrol engine.
