HANS Tauscher, managing director of Mercedes-Benz (UK) has announced his intention to retire at the end of the year. During his time in the post he has seen Mercedes-Benz truck sales leap from 2,021 to 17,344 in 1995 and car sales increase from 4,436 to 32,694 in the same period.

He will be succeeded by Paul Halata who is presently Senior vice president, sales and marketing, light commercials, for Mercedes-Benz AG.
