AFTER its Geneva Show launch last April, the Suzuki Baleno 1.8 has gone on sale in the UK as a four-door version only. It is powered by an all-new 121bhp 16-valve DOHC engine with multi-point fuel injection and comes with a high specification including ABS brakes, central locking, twin airbags and electric windows and mirrors. The car will cost £12,500 on the road.

New suspension has been added, with sports or normal settings. Options include air conditioning, alloy wheels, wood effect interior trim and a rear spoiler with high level brake light. Fuel figures are 27.7mpg on the urban cycle, 46.3mpg on the extra urban and 37.2mpg on the combined. The new engine offers a top speed of 118mph with 0-62mph in 10.2secs.
