MITSUBISHI has signed its largest single sales contract - a £1.5 million deal for 60 Shogun four wheel drive models. The fleet deal has been concluded with Tamworth-based Drive Assist which has bought the vehicles to supply as replacement cars to drivers who have lost the use of their own vehicle as a result of a no-fault accident.
It is the first time Drive Assist has bought 4x4 models with motorists having previously been offered a saloon vehicle in place of their 4x4 while it underwent repair.
The fleet deal has been signed with Mitsubishi sales at record levels - 13.5% up on the whole of 1995 at 12,287 units. That success has resulted in the company importing its 250,000th vehicle into the UK since sales began in 1974. The car is a Carisma saloon and to celebrate the milestone the £11,500 on the road vehicles will be given away in a competition which will be held around the time of next month's British International Motor Show in Birmingham.
