MOTORWAY is to double the size of its mobile fast-fit fleet less than six months after the service was launched. Announced at this year's Fleet Show, the mobile service was established in July with 50 vehicles, but the company has just ordered a further 50 Mercedes Sprinter 312 vans to meet growing demand from both private and business customers.

The mobile fitting fleet is a central part of an ongoing investment programme at Motorway worth some £15 million. The mobile operation complements the company's 200-strong network of tyre, battery and exhaust fitting centres. The new vehicles are being supplied by BRS Van Lease, which is working with Motorway to develop a van specification especially tailored to the mobile fitting application.
