ELECTRONIC trading pioneer OASIS Global Systems has been quick to capitalise on the opportunities created by the advent of electronic relicensing which goes live from March.

The EDI-based trading community has incorporated the full suite of relicensing messages into its software with support from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency. The development will allow the growing number of fleets signing up to OASIS to renew their vehicles' road tax electronically direct with the DVLA.

OASIS' relicensing module is standalone, requiring simple single file transfers from the fleet operator system to provide an efficient electronic on-line paperless system. It takes the operator through the processes required to relicense their vehicles step-by-step and handles all the potential error reports from the DVLA and manages the initial set-up process complete with appropriate safety nets.

OASIS has already recruited Lease Plan and BCH to its electronic trading community and is due to announce further new partners in the near future. Dealer groups Carringtons, Lex Retail and fast-fit specialist Kwik-Fit are among the suppliers already signed up.
