Backing from the IoD comes as more and more company directors are attending the show. It also comes as surveys last year from Dial Contracts and Fleet Cost Management revealed that directors were becoming more pro-active in fleet operations as cost control becomes an increasingly vital part of fleet operations. This year's annual Fleet News survey of fleet managers compiled in conjunction with Lex Vehicle Leasing revealed that of the top 20 'concerns and priorities' facing fleet managers in 1997 keeping overall fleet costs down was top of the agenda.
It is the first time the IoD will have attended the show in its 16-year history and it will be inviting members to attend and publicising the show in national and regional newsletters.
Currently 117 companies have booked to exhibit and they include 22 motor manufacturers and 95 service companies. Among the latest companies to book are Europcar, Fleet Technique and Island Plastics. Companies wanting to book a stand at the show should contact Sue Scotney on 01733 467033.
