TRAFFICMASTER shares rose 20p to 300p following Vauxhall's announcement that it was extending the range of models to which it fits the company's Oracle traffic information system. Vauxhall is now fitting Trafficmaster Oracle - which gives live traffic information to motorists - as standard in Vectra LS models in addition to GLS, SRi and CDX models in addition to fitting it to other models later this year.

While Trafficmaster shares rose last Wednesday following the announcement, the crunch will come when it finds out how many motorists renew subscriptions for the service following the tariff-free first year. In a bid to encourage continued use of the service the cost of one-year's airtime has been cut from £24 to £18 while the tariff for two additional years will be £32 (including VAT) payable within the first month of ownership.
