THE British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association now has more than a million vehicles on its mileage database with Vehicle Mileage Check. The BVRLA has long campaigned to stamp out clocking and in 1995 set up the database, in collaboration with VMC, to record the mileages of members' vehicles on disposal.
Chairman of the BVRLA leasing and fleet management committee, VELO managing director David Voss, said he was delighted that the register had gone over the million vehicle mark, helped by VELO's monthly input of figures last week. Voss said: 'It's a significant boost to the BVRLA/VMC campaign aimed at stamping out a practice that proves so damaging to the motor industry.'
