SAAB has released the first official pictures of its 900 replacement which is due to arrive in the UK in April after a world debut at the Detroit Auto Show next month. Badged the 9-3, the new model is described as an 'evolution' of the 900.

Saab says the changes amount to much more than a makeover, with improvements to the chassis as well as styling changes inside and out. A turbodiesel - featuring state-of-the-art technology developed jointly with General Motors - will also make its debut in the 9-3.
