PHH Vehicle Management Services' accident management division has topped the 100,000 vehicle mark, thanks to a new deal covering Northern Electric's fleet of 2,200 cars and vans. Northern Electric joins three fellow electricity companies - East Midlands Electricity Board, Yorkshire Electricity and Seeboard - with vehicles on PHH's books.

Northern Electric group insurance and purchasing manager Nicholas Hughes said: 'Northern Electric is a dynamic company, seeking new business opportunities, but at the same time ensuring increased efficiency in the future. Our immediate operating area now stretches from York up as far as the Scottish border. This vast territory has to be covered by our existing service fleet so it's very important that our downtime is kept to a minimum.
