A THIRD of fleets have had a vehicle stolen within the past three months, according to a new fleet vehicle theft survey by Securicor TrakBak.

Of the 100 fleets operating 20 to more than 100 vehicles surveyed by Securicor TrakBak, which markets a stolen vehicle tracking system combined with an immobiliser, 55.6% of fleets have had a vehicle stolen in the last year, while just 9% of companies had never had a vehicle stolen.

Meanwhile, two thirds of fleets think the cost of crime is rising, with 21% believing it to be decreasing.
