CITROEN launched a driver training initiative with defensive driving specialist DriveTech at the Fleet Motor Show. The one-day Driver Awareness Course aims to help fleets improve their safety records by cutting accident numbers and reducing insurance and administration costs.
David Coop, Citroen's national fleet sales manager, said: 'Many companies could easily reduce the cost of running their fleets by following the advice highlighted in this valuable course. When you consider 95% of accidents are caused by driver error and that an average fleet experiences an accident rate of 60% per annum, you can see the economic and social implications of such an initiative.'
Citroen and DriveTech are so confident of the effectiveness of the training that they will offer a free refresher course to any driver who has an accident within 12 months of the course.
