LEX Vehicle Leasing has secured a three-year solus deal to supply 300 vehicles on contract hire to national refreshment supplier Vendcare. The company, which previously financed vehicles through Ford Credit on its largely solus Ford fleet, said it switched to Lex Vehicle Leasing to benefit from a one-stop-shop approach to managing its fleet.

As well as supplying vehicles on contract hire with maintenance, Lex Vehicle Leasing is supplying add-on services. Vendcare has opted to provide new members of staff with a short term rental car for three months before ordering a new car on a two-year contract. The firm will also be making use of the Lex Accident Management service.

Cost comparisons have resulted in Vendcare switching its car replacement cycle from 12 to 24 months and on vans from 24 to 36 months. Senior managers and directors have a free vehicle choice, and route merchandisers drive Escort estates or Escort vans. Transit vans are used to deliver large stock quantities and vending equipment, and all sales consultants drive Mondeos.
