VAUXHALL is implementing plans to dramatically increase its network of MasterFit outlets to 500 within the next three years in an attempt to stem the flow of aftersales business away from dealerships.
The launch of PHH Vehicle Fleet Management's Autonet independent servicing network at the Fleet Motor Show last month confirms the growing penetration of independent workshops into not only the fleet but retail sectors. A similar move by Fleet Cost Management which uses independents alongside franchised dealers has seen the company establish the Select network.
The MasterFit network currently stands at 127, but another 70 centres will be up and running by the end of this year. All offer a no-appointment service with menu pricing and fast service on a range of popular repairs for all Vauxhall vehicles plus servicing and MoT testing.
