PRODUCTION of right hand drive versions of SEAT's Arosa supermini has been delayed by two months after teething trouble at the German factory.

Originally due to arrive in the UK later this month, the Arosa will not appear until August - and then only in limited numbers. Full-scale distribution to the UK is unlikely to be reached until September or October.

A SEAT spokesman blamed a 'non-specific problem' at Volkswagen's Wolfsburg production plant for the delay, but denied that UK dealers faced a similar situation as their Volkswagen counterparts experienced with the Passat. The car is already on sale in mainland Europe and SEAT says demand in Britain is extremely high.
