MAZDA is offering high-mileage fleets a five year warranty for an unlimited mileage across its product range. The free warranty extension is available to corporate customers on every model apart from the 121 - which still has Mazda's standard three-year warranty but that is 24 months longer than the warranty on the Ford Fiesta on which the 121 is based.

The offer is believed to be a first in the fleet market and has been revealed as leading fleet manufacturers - including the 'big three' - continue to drag their feet over offering three year/60,000-mile warranties as standard.

Mazda national corporate sales manager Trevor Houghton-Berry said the importer was offering the free warranty extension - worth £436 in the retail market - as part of a menu of value-added package to fleets.
