EMPLOYEES are costing British business at least £100 million pounds a year by making unauthorised private calls on company mobile phones, according to communications consultancy Project Telecom. However, the organisation has now introduced a call review system, called SmartCall, which enables bosses to use their office computer to analyse all mobile phone calls made by staff.

It also gives managers the chance to call up instant records of usage of any mobile phone over the past few months. Project Telecom managing director Tim Radford said: 'SmartCall gives managers the full facts and therefore the means to control that cost. On average, we have found that companies save a minimum of 10% on their mobile phone bills after they introduce this system.
