MOTORENT (UK) chairman and managing director Bernard Cottrell has welcomed news that hospitals are being urged to claim back from insurers the cost of treating road accident victims. He says he has been campaigning for such a move for many years and wrote to the then Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, as far back as 1988.

He said: 'I have never given up the fight and just recently lobbied the new Government. I am so very pleased that after all these years they have now agreed with my suggestion.'
