COST and service levels were the key factors in Fleet Cost Management winning an outsourced fleet management deal with Stevenage-based Marconi Instruments. Part of the GEC group, the company operates a nationwide 140-strong fleet.
The company has outsourced for some time and the new deal follows a three-way tender for fleet services as part of a periodic review of suppliers. A full range of FCM services has been chosen by the company to make up the outsourced package including servicing, maintenance and fuel through the FCM card alongside accident management and the provision of software.
Marconi Instruments, which is a specialist in test instrumentation, is to continue sourcing its own vehicles through a three-badge Vauxhall, Ford and Rover deal negotiated by GEC at a group level.
