COMPANY bosses will be able to live the American dream when Vauxhall establishes a network of up to 12 dealers who will sell Cadillac and Chevrolet models in the UK starting next spring. Parent company General Motors is looking to export the new Cadillac Seville, which had its world launch at the Frankfurt show, and a number of Chevrolet models to the UK.

Further details on Vauxhall's arrangements to sell the cars are expected to be announced at next month's London Motor Show, but Joe Switalski, sales and service director of General Motors Europe North American Vehicles, said: 'Negotiations are currently taking place with Vauxhall dealers in the UK. We will start with a few dealers and grow to about 10-12 dealers. We are talking to a couple of dealers who only want to sell Cadillac and the remainder will sell both Cadillac and Chevrolet.'

Left-hand drive versions of the Cadillac Seville had their world premiere at Frankfurt - the first Cadillac world premiere outside North .The Cadillac is America's most successful limousine and the Seville marks the launch of the fifth generation of the model with right-hand drive versions going on sale in the UK next spring costing around £42,000.

Also arriving in Britain later next year will be right-hand drive versions of the Chevrolet Blazer - a luxury 4x4 vehicle powered by a 4.3-litre V6 193bhp diesel engine. Other Chevrolets, including performance cars such as the Corvette and Camaro, are also likely to be imported but they will be in left-hand drive format.
