ROVER has signed a £14 million a year contract with Birmingham-based van maker LDV to provide steel and aluminium panels for the new Land Rover Discovery. LDV will supply more than 100 different pressings for the all-new off-roader, including the main floor, rear bodyside inners, wheel arches and rear tailgate inners.
The contract also includes the supply of some sub-assemblies. The new Discovery goes on sale in November. LDV supplies pressings for the Land Rover Defender and outgoing Discovery in business worth about £18 million a year.
