SUBARU has announced a series of price increases for its Legacy and Impreza and the cost of its new Forester Turbo. The 2.0S Forester Turbo with manual five-speed gearbox starts at £21,750 and comes with cloth trim, ABS, twin front and side airbags, electric sunroof, air conditioning, front fog lamps, windscreen wiper de-icer, heated front seats and mirrors, rising to £22,950 if leather is added.

The automatic option costs £1,000 more for each model. The current 2.0 GLS models increase in price, with the base five-speed version and automatic up £500 to £16,950 and £17,950 respectively. A similar price increase affects the higher spec all-weather model, which comes with extras including fog lamps, heated front seats and door mirrors and windscreen wiper de-icer, now priced at £20,050.

The 1999 model year Impreza saloon and five-door range sees increases between £285 (2%) for the 2.0 GL and more than £1,000 (5.8%) for the Turbo 2000. The saloon 2.0-litre GL goes up £285 from £13,965 to £14,250 for the five-speed. The auto has a £1,000 premium and the rise is also £285, going up to £15,250.
