MOBILE phone service One 2 One has outsourced its 500-strong car fleet to Avis Fleet Services in a major deal announced at the British International Motor Show. Avis, part of GE Capital Fleet Services, will take over the management of One 2 One's fleet with immediate effect, and replace cars on contract hire when they come to the end of their contracts with Dial.

The communication company's new fleet strategy will also see it switch from contract hire to contract purchase for higher value vehicles, and introduce the option for eligible staff to take advantage of Avis's personal contract purchase motoring plan.

Mark Fisher, One 2 One's head of procurement, said: 'Avis Fleet Services demonstrated the vision and commitment to meet our objectives for a high quality service with the lowest operating costs for all vehicles. We are confident there will be a better service for our drivers, but at the same time we will also receive far better management information reports so that we can really see what is happening.'
