MAZDA is aiming to introduce at least two new models and two facelifted models each year as the company fights for greater success in the showrooms. The products will be brought to market in less time thanks to innovations which are revolutionising the company's design, development and manufacturing processes, Mazda Motor Corporation president James Miller said in Paris.

'Our aim is to reach an ultimate leadtime of just 15 months as part of our drive for significant and profitable growth,' he said. 'We want a 50% increase over last year's sales in Europe to achieve a 2% market share by the end of next year. We will achieve this by further strengthening our presence in Germany and Britain and capitalising on our new 323 and Demio ranges.'
