THE Audi A4 is to undergo a subtle facelift with changes to its exterior and interior styling, but no alterations under the bonnet. Changes to the exterior will see redesigned bumpers with integral fog lights, new door handles, exterior mirrors and side rubbing strips.

The rear benefits from revised lights and a reshaped boot lid incorporating flush grip. On the interior there will be a new range of colour schemes, plus a reshaped console, a new switch panel with back-lit controls and an aluminium surround for the gear lever.

A new option is the Audi Sideguard head-level airbag system, which covers the side window area from the front to rear roof pillar to provide additional protection to the standard fitted passenger and driver airbags. Prices and detailed specifications for the 1999 Audi A4 have yet to be finalised and will be available nearer its launch in spring next year.
