INSURANCE giant General Accident has signed a sponsorship deal worth £2,500 with the Fleet Driver Training Association. The money will be used to help raise quality standards within the driver training industry and to promote the value of fleet driver training to a wider audience.
GA is the first insurer to sponsor the FDTA, and has itself promoted defensive driver training for over 10 years. The sponsorship is initially for a year. Derek Forgan, GA's commercial motor manager, said: 'General Accident has been committed to fleet driver training since 1988 and our support for the FDTA is a reflection of this commitment.'
He added: 'We are confident the FDTA will play a major role in raising the standard of training across the industry and are delighted to be in a position to help ensure this invaluable work continues.'
