THE Government this week launched a campaign to warn drivers and employers of the dangers of using mobile phones while at the wheel. The drink-drive style campaign will include national newspaper advertisements and an advisory leaflet.
If the publicity campaign is unsuccessful the Government looks set to consider legislation. The move follows widespread campaigning by safety groups such as the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, which has called for a total ban on mobile phone use by drivers.
