ROLAND Moens, managing director of Europcar UK, has resigned from the company following its acquisition of British Car & Van Rental. It is understood he was unhappy with the new management structure of the combined Europcar-BCR.

Terry King-Smith, former chairman and chief executive of BCR, has become joint chairman and managing director of Europcar UK. Other BCR directors joining the Europcar board are Paul Batchelor, formerly commercial director of BCR, who has been appointed sales director, and John Newman, previously BCR's operations director, who has become fleet director. David Ashfield, Europcar's finance director, Doug Sawers, Europcar's operations director and Stephen Jones, Europcar's marketing director all retain their positions.

'The immediate objective of the new management team will be to fully integrate both companies in one cohesive whole within the shortest possible time span. We will announce new initiatives in due course,' said King-Smith.
