DEALER group Alexander Holdings plc, parent of Alexander Contract Rentals, is in formal discussions with potential buyers. The group was obliged to make an official announcement to the Stock Exchange about the talks after its share price shot up to 19p.

The declaration is understood to have attracted the attention of other potential buyers, and an announcement on the progress of negotiations is expected within weeks. Alexander Contract Rentals runs a fleet of 5,000 vehicles.
