WINDSCREEN replacement to football club-owning Silver Shield Group has reported pre-tax losses of £197,078 for the six months to November 30, 1997. This compared with a pre-tax profit of £81,348 for the equivalent 1996 half-year.

Silver Shield Screens traded profitably during the period - turnover increased to £3.3 million (1996: £1.46 million). But a loss arose as a result of group overheads and losses of £125,679 for Swansea City Football Club, in which it has an 80% stake.

Chairman Neil McClure said: 'The marked increase in turnover reflects the increased percentage of Silver Shield Screens' work carried out in company-owned depots and the effect of the acquisition of Swansea City Football Club.'
