AN initiative designed to promote understanding of environmental issues which affect company vehicles has been launched by Vauxhall and Fleet News at the Fleet Motor Show. 'Fleet Management and the Environment' will take the shape of 10 monthly articles in Fleet NewsNet and sister hard copy title Fleet News - starting in June - which covers the basics of greener fleet management from alternative fuels to reducing vehicle use.

The new initiative kicked off at the show with each visitor receiving a four-page environmental supplement discussing key issues facing the fleet issue as they enter the exhibition hall. The series is being launched as transport and the environment moves virtually to the top of the Government's political agenda and as a transport white paper is about to be published.
