BRITISH Gas Natural Gas Vehicles has opened its largest gas station, at the London Borough of Sutton, as part of the launch of the Environmental Transport Association's Green Transport Week. Twice the size of any other gas station, the refuelling facility - one of 21 built, owned and operated by British Gas - will service the borough's growing fleet of natural gas-powered vehicles, including cars, vans and refuse trucks.
Tom Gorman, general manager of British Gas NGV, said: 'This station is the result of a long-term partnership between British Gas NGV and the London Borough of Sutton and follows an 18-month trial with two refuse trucks and a small fleet of vans. Sutton, like many other enlightened fleet operators, is turning to gas power in the drive to reduce pollution. It is great to see this major commitment to the cleaner transport option.'
