GWM UK will launch its new Haval Jolian Pro SUV in February, priced from £23,995.

The Chinese brand announced a rebrand from GWM Ora to GWM, earlier this month.

When it arrives in the UK, the GWM Haval Jolian Pro will be offered with a petrol-hybrid powertrain. It will rival the MG ZS and Nissan Qashqai.

Whether the name sticks or GWM decides to align the model with the '03' (formerly the Funky Cat), remains to be seen.

The 1.5-litre petrol engine, paired with an electric motor, provides a combined power output of 189PS. CO2 emissions and fuel economy data is yet to be published but GWM said the car will have  driving range of up to 620 miles.

Measuring 4,470mm in length, 1,898mm in width and 1,625mm in height, the Haval Jolian Pro is one of the larger SUVs in its segment.

GWM will offer three trim levels: Premium, Lux and Ultra. The range topping model - priced at £29,995 - comes with a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, heated and cooled front seats, a 360-degree camera system and a head-up display.

Safety features include Driver Drowsiness Protection, Brake Override System, Secondary Collision Mitigation and Automatic Rear Cross Traffic Braking. The vehicle also features Auto Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning and Blind Spot Detection. All ADAS functions are fitted as standard across all trim levels.

Further details on pricing and specification will be announced when the car goes on sale in February.
