A NEW all-party backbench Houses of Parliament motor industry group has been launched to campaign on behalf of the motor industry and motorists. The Parliamentary All-Party Motor Industry Group is chaired by Birmingham Northfield Labour MP Richard Burden and has been established following the disbanding of the All-Party Motor Club and the All-Party Motor Industry Group.
Since last year's general election both groups have been largely inactive, but following discussions over the last year the new organisation has been formed supported by a secretariat composed of the RAC, Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders and the Motor Sport Industry Association.
