MORE than 2,000 fleet decision-makers from across Europe have been invited to the first Automotive Congress Europe being held in Switzerland on September 29-30. Staged by Emap Automotive, publisher of Fleet News, the conference is THE event for the pan-European fleet, rental and leasing industry. Details were mailed this week to manufacturers, contract hire and leasing companies across Europe, top UK fleets, service companies and members of the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association and the European Car and Truck Rental Association, which is supporting the two-day event.

Chaired by Professor Garel Rhys, director of the Centre for Automotive Research at Cardiff Business School, areas of discussion will include the European single market, threats to the fleet industry, leasing companies of the future, multi-national business and vehicle remarketing. Speakers will include representatives from ABN Amro, Coopers Lybrand Germany, GE Capital Fleet Services Europe, Avis Europe, CAP Motor Research Daimler Benz, ECATRA, ALD Autoleasing, Phillips Electronics, Ford of Europe, British Car Auctions, Thorn UK, and GM.
